Flax Seeds (Alsi)

Alsi — small, glossy brown flax seeds with a mild, nutty taste.

How to use them

Dry-roast them and eat them as a mouth freshener, or grind them and stir the powder into rotis, porridge, smoothies and raita. They go into laddoos, chutneys and baking too.

Storing them

Keep whole seeds in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. Grind only what you need: ground flax is best kept in the fridge and used within a few days.
